Facebook is Soon Launching Free Antivirus Scanner For User Security!

The Social Network, Facebook is launching an antivirus scanner in their abuse detection and prevention systems with the help of security firm ESET.

Partnerships with ESET, F-Secure and Trend Micro is to make the Facebook more secure and a reliable platform. Together, these three systems will help facebook to block malicious links and harmful sites from populating the News Feeds and Messages of the 1.35 billion people who use Facebook.

Facebook said " These companies built free versions of their products directly into Facebook so that people could get the help they need without additional hassle. Today, we are expanding those capabilities by adding the anti-malware technology of another IT security vendor, ESET. A larger number of providers increases the chances that malware will get caught and cleaned up, which will help people on Facebook keep their information more secure."

How It Works ?

If the device you're using to access Facebook services is behaving suspiciously and shows signs of a possible malware infection, a message will appear offering you an anti-malware scan for your device. You can run the scan, see the scan results, and disable the software all without logging out of Facebook—making it seamless and easy to clean up an infected device.
